OLVERA ENHANCES THE BEAUTY THAT ITS STREETS HAVE HIDDEN FOR CENTURIES
Different neighborhoods of the Olvereño Historical Complex look greener than ever, with the placement of more than 500 flowerpots on facades, the planting of bougainvillea and the floral decoration of albarradillas.
Just when we are getting used to the new normal, we can move between provinces and the high temperatures encourage us to visit places with a lot of charm, the Historical Complex of Olvera looks more beautiful than ever thanks to the installation of hundreds of pots and plants through the Floral and Vegetable Beautification Program launched by the consistory. This project, started in 2017 and framed in Olvera's Strategic Tourism Plan, has continued during this year with the expansion of the intervened area, including streets of the Historic Complex where the presence of cars is residual.
Starting with the installation of flowerpots on the facades of the houses in these neighborhoods, the placement of pots in the typical albarradillas, and the planting of bougainvillea with colorful flowers in charming corners, the Olvera City Council takes a further step in the beautification of one of the most charismatic White Villages in the entire province. In this way, after the initial investment assumed by the council, the residents themselves are in charge of the irrigation and maintenance of the plants, providing for an annual review by the public entity in which to replace or replace what may have been lost or deteriorate. Remedios Palma, Councilor-delegate of the Tourism Area, has emphasized the great disposition of the neighbors for the development of this project,
With this action, Olvera enhances the beauty that its streets have hidden for centuries, the same ones that from now on aromatize the municipality in its flowering period. The walk through these streets, which hide multiple heritage elements, will now be more pleasant among flowers and viewpoints in streets that twist adapting to the slope of the land.
