OLVERA CASTLE JOINS THE NATIONAL NETWORK OF HISTORICAL HERITAG

The 12th century fortress becomes part of the select Association and Club of Tourist Product of Castles and Palaces of Spain, supported by the Secretary of State for Tourism. The Olvera City Council celebrates its admission to the Spanish Castles and Palaces Tourist Association, the managing body of the Castles and Palaces of Spain Tourist Product Club, which aims to bring together the most important castles and palaces in the country in the same network, both from the point of view from a historical and architectural point of view, contributing to its enhancement, dissemination and enjoyment. This initiative, which has the support of both the Secretary of State for Tourism, Turespaña and the Autonomous Governments, aims to promote the cultural tourism sector, being a benchmark for the Spain Brand. The celebration of said accession, which was formalized in April, in full confinement by the COVID-19 pandemic, has had to wait until the reopening of the main monuments of the municipality last weekend. In this context, the Mayor of Olvera, Francisco Párraga, has expressed his satisfaction and explained that "this new seal of quality that adds our heritage will be decisive for the growth of the tourism sector in our municipality in the coming months", time that has expressed "it is a pride for Olvera to have become part of such a select and recognized club, from whose experience at the national level we can benefit." The Castles and Palaces Tourism Product Association and Club of Spain was born in 2013 with the aim of promoting the cultural tourism sector of castles and palaces in Spain and spreading its values ​​throughout the world.
