THE MONUMENTS OF OLVERA REOPEN THEIR DOORS IN A WEEKEND OF INTENSE TOURIST ACTIVITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY

Last Friday the Olvera Castle, the La Cilla Building or the Municipal Tourist Office, which have registered a high volume of visits throughout the weekend, opened again to visitors. The doors of some of the main monuments of the town reopened to the visitor last Friday, June 12, in the middle of Phase 3, when mobility between provinces within the autonomous community of Andalusia was allowed again. In this way, the Olvera Castle, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1985, and the La Cilla Building became the first monumental assets in the town to receive visits after its closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. In these first three days of opening, there have been many visitors who have enjoyed both monuments, coming mostly from the province of Cadiz itself, more than 60% of them, as well as from the neighboring provinces of Seville and Malaga, and even From Cordoba. Mainly it has been hikers who have taken advantage of the good temperatures of the weekend to walk through the Sierra and visit several of those known as Pueblos Blancos, or users of the Vía Verde de la Sierra, who have made a stop on the way to Enjoy the panoramic views that can be seen from the Olvereño neighborhood of La Villa, walk along the walkway of the medieval walls in the La Cilla Building, or climb to the top of the Castle. However, prior to its opening, the necessary tasks were carried out to guarantee the safety of both staff and visitors, with the ordering of itineraries in the smallest places, the control of capacity, the installation of screens or the replacement of paper brochures by self-downloading plans through QR codes. Likewise, the Olvera City Council is working to prepare other areas of great tourist interest in the municipality, such as the Peñón del Sagrado Corazón or El Cerretillo, which will open their doors in the coming weeks, thus adding to the more than attractive tourist offer in Olvera. face the summer months.
